During the discussion on the way forward and the roadmap towards 2015, the Director-General presented the report of the Working Group on ?Technology. Broadband and Education: Advancing the Education for All Agenda? that is chaired by UNESCO. Making full use of the global roll-out broadband to enhance learning opportunities, facilitate the exchange of information and knowledge, increase access to diverse, multilingual quality content is the key message of this report, which was adopted, together with reports of other Working Groups, by the Commission.
The transformative power of Broadband and the need to develop applications to support human development and contribute to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) will be at the core of the forthcoming BBCD report to be presented in New York, in September 2013.
